League of Minnesota Poets President for three terms from 2004-2010.

First collection of poetry, Tumbled Dry, published in 2011 by Lost Hills Books, Duluth. In May 2012 Tumbled Dry received the Northeastern Minnesota Book Award for Poetry.

Poem, Nature’s Goodness, was chosen for a Popular Choice Award at Northwoods Art & Book Festival. In spring 2013, published in a hard-bound book, Gratitude Prayers: Prayers, Poems & Prose for Everyday Thankfulness. 7500 copies were printed with world-wide distribution through Andrews McMeel Publishing.

The Talking Stick, vol. 23, 2014 Second Place in the Creative Non-Fiction Award. Mary Carroll Moore was the judge.

Appointed 2015-2016 National Federation of State Poetry Societies, Inc. (NFSPS) Judges Chair position.

Published in Toasts: The Perfect Words to Celebrate Every Occasion, in 2014.
